Presence Ponderings

Tune: Song 46

('Drop, drop, slow tears')

*********

Slowing a pace, help us see you good grace

As we by faith humbly behold your face

Though cannot be seen, mortal view alone

But only through Christ, who does now atone

I dare not trust to my own righteousness

But sole in Christ, and my poor state confess

Confess my poverty, my sin, leave not

Lord, for without you 'tis unhappy lot

But comforted by your forgiveness, love

And eternal life through your Spirit, [the] dove

Psalm 61 v.4

Here I will bide, in your tabernacle

Will trust in the shelter of your wings all

Psalm 62 v.5

My soul, wait you only upon God true

My expectation, good He shall me do

Psalm 63 v.1

O God, early I seek you, thus I will

I long for you, satisfy my thirst still

Psalm 63 v.6

You I remember through life's nights and days

Meditate on you, give you worthy praise

Thanks Brian. Though the original hymn is a bit mournful, I thought the tune fitted to a meditative sort of hymn-poem.
