The Privilege of Age.

Goldfinch60

I look in the mirror and see who?

I see this man,

This man of many years staring at me.

What happened to that young man

That used to stare back at me?

He has gone with the passing of time.

I then look again at the face

And see the wisdom of age

That experience has given to me.

I then smile as I realise,

Realise that age is a privilege

That some do not reach.

A fine write Gold. That'll teach me to scare myself in younger days, watching vampire film. No reflection of them in the mirror.

    • Goldfinch60

So true, my vampire days are over ever since I started eating the garlic that those pesky Normans brought over in 1066.

What a privilege! Very reflective. Thank you.

      • Goldfinch60

        Thank you Cooper, most kind.

So true - we often forget that we are the privileged ones to reach a certain age.

        • Goldfinch60

          That is certainly true Michael.

And yet Einstein was not all that wise - not spiritually wise anyway. Not to put a damper on this, though it's said 'Not all great men are wise'.
Some - very old like me (1066) may grow un-wiser with age. Doh! I know what you mean though - some not reaching old age.
          How's the 1794 prep going?

            Thanks for your thoughts Orchi.

              My pleasure Laura.

MANY THANKS UNCLE ANDY : The Acoustic Guitar is our favourite instrument and we love the Quintet of the Hot Club de Paris with Django Rheinhardt : this group follow the same tradition ! Segovia was a great admirer of Django and his technique despite a manual disability ! In the same way Stephan Grapelli was admired by the classical violin virtuoso Yeudi Menuin ~ AMEN.
We found you Poem intriguing for two People half your age (30 & 35). Between us we have a lot of knowledge and an increasing body of experience : but we both lack WISDOM in many areas of life ! We are encouraged that as we age Physically : Mentally our WISDOM will increase !
Thanks for caring. Love & Blessings to YOU & JOYCE :
              Angela & Brian 🧡🧡🧡🧡
We are posting YESTERDAY tomorrow : please look out for it !
