I look up at the evening sky,
The reds and oranges adorn the clouds,
Natures artistic brush sweeps through
Showing its wondrous glory.
Slowly the colours fade
And a grey world is upon me,
But as I look the moon rises,
This white ball of heavenly light
Shining down on me,
Showing that the light is with me,
Showing me the way.
I look beyond the moon
And see the stars emerging,
Each one a memory of hope.
The evening passes
Into the darkness of night,
The moon and stars so bright
Giving me the faith
That all is well within My World,
And that the New Day is coming.
That New day arrives,
The reds and oranges adorn the clouds
As natures artwork is with me,
And daylight fills my life once more.

A fine write Gold. Yes, and in Jewish thought anyway, the days begin at sunset.
Thanks Orchi. I did not know that about the Jewish day.
Tis a wonderful world Andy.
It certainly is Michael.
Changes by light and darkness and so beautifully described Goldi - - I love the number you chose too - one of my favourite pianists is Oscar..
Thank you Fay, most kind.
Oscar is my favourite Jazz pianist as well.
And isn't it wonderful that we all share the Moon no matter where we are...... almost as if we all lived together in the same house.... and that the Moon saw every single one of us including Cleopatra and Caesar and no matter how much disagreement and horror there is in the world, the Moon (and less romantically the Sun) is a peaceful constant! I loved the music too which isn't music I would normally find but oh so peaceful.....
Yes it is so wonderful that we can share the moon (and the stars) in our so small world.
Oscar Peterson is one of the great Jazz Pianists and I have had the honour to see him live at a concert many years ago.
Andy,
I thoroughly enjoyed the write and the music selection to complement your poem...
calming, soothing, and dreamy...
Beautiful!
My love to Joyce and to you!
