Kingdom of the King - Mark's Gospel (2)

Tune: Repton

('Dear Lord and Father of mankind')

Mark 1 v.32-38

********

An evening, when the sun did set

The world it was still lit

With Jesus, He the world's true light

Brought healing, freedom, joy, and sight

Devils did flee in fright

Devils did flee in fright

At city there in Galilee

All people gathered, see

Jesus many sick folk did heal

Brought in God's kingdom with true weal (well-being)

And He acts today still

And He acts today still

He healed them, diverse diseases

That held them, did them seize

And too many devils cast out

Silencing them there and no doubt

They did not His name shout

They did not His name shout

Then in the morn, very early

He rose up then, here see

Went to a solitary place

For there to seek His Father's face

And in prayer His will trace

And in prayer His will trace

Disciples they did find Him there

And said, Do come and share

For all people do seek for you

He said, Let us go next town too

To bring the tidings new

To bring the tidings new

Tidings of the gospel, good news

Open to all who choose

To believe in Him, for to preach

He came forth, many souls to reach

Salvation unto each

Salvation unto each
