    THANKS UNCLE STEVE ~ An OLDUN but still a GOLDUN ! It was voted 48th in the list of best 500 SONGS since the 1930\'s. It still has the power to move one ! Love through MUSIC ~

    Thanks Uncle ANDY ~ It is an awesome song which will always move poeple. It was written (the first two verses) as a FOLK HYMN ~ The last verse (the Silver Girl was Pauls Wife who was going prematurely grey !) was added in the Studio. I have sung it as Choir Piece lovely. Blessings & Bridges ~

  Great take on a lovely song. May have relayed this here before but my son was flying to India and sat next to AG without realising who he was. AG asked him what he did for a living and my son asked him the same question. He replied 'Oh I do a bit of singing' and the conversation moved on. It wasn't until after they left the plane that he realised who his fellow traveller was.

    It happens especially if there is an age gap ! A friend of mine chatted to Prince Andrew for five minutes and only realised who it was later ! Typical of ART to say \"Oh I do a bit of singing\" I am told that He & Simon were quite unasuming. I did meet George Hamilton VI (Canadian Country Singer) at a Barn Birthday Party in Suffolk. It was before He had sung for us but he did have VI on his blazer pocket which was a give away. He did fill me in on Gentleman Jim Reeves (who helped him when he first moved to Nashville) who is the topic of one of my talks for Seniors ! Pleased you enjoyed the Pic Poem & Vid ! \"Bridge\" will last forever !

    Thanks FAY ~ Yes indeed it sold so many copies (as a single & an album) it went PLATINUM ! Tonight on BBC 4 Andrew Marr gave a talk on the 1960s & 1970s which ended in Turmoil (3 day week etc). At the end of the programme ~ they played "Bridge Over Troubled Water" ! Thanks for your comments ~ YES we all need a BRIDGE ~ sometime !

    Thanks "PF" ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! It is a very haunting tune & lyric ~ with a fabulous ending. The Album sold 25 million copies and sadly it was the last Album S & G produced together !
