A DREAM LOST
A new life promised
Feverish preparations
Dreams may soon be true.
Grim resolution
An impediment declared
Marriage disavowed.

Sometimes the realisation of our lives lead to sad consequences.
Love the artwork.
I wrote these separately but somehow they seemed to work together.
A fine write and pic Michael. Was the impediment anything swoony?! Will Fido bark at it?
Fido knows - he was there.
Where do those dreams go to? They were so splendid, they can't just disappear. I can't even remember them. All i recall is the euphoria.
There is a big dream bucket somewhere - if you find it please let me know - like you I rarely remember my dreams and even then they are soon forgotten.
Michael,
Great painting and write!
Regarding the painting,
if I cover the structure on the left and the one on the right with just the center one remaining , it reminds me of the main piazza in my Italian hometown! The center structure being the main church...St. Rocco’s Church...the patron saint of the town!

It's not Rocamontepinao by any chance is it? Thanks so much Laura.
No, Michael, it isn’t. That’s in the Abruzzo region.
Mine is in the Campania region!
You’re welcome!

"Do you know any lawful impediment why this man may not be joined to this Woman ? Speak now or forever hold your piece" I hate this bit of the Marriage Ceremony : In case a skeleton pops out of the cupboard ! Keeping my fingers crossed for my Wedding to Brian : AMEN ! Thanks for sharing :

Why do they use the word 'impediment' (obstacle, barrier, bar, obstruction) when they mean 'reason' ? The world's daft. Bless you and thanks Angela.
