Chet Baker Acrostic.

Goldfinch60

Cherished sound

Making music in my life

Ever more important

To my waking world.

Bringing joy into to my heart,

A sound so unique

Keeps me wondering

Ever more, as his music

Reverberates in my soul.

Thanks Michael. I was until I became ill Thursday evening, I spent yesterday in bed or in the bathroom but seem to be better today.

          Love chet, hate acrostics.
Wonderful toothless fluffy trumpet and in later years a wonderfully worn voice and phrasing.
The late stuff was really him at his best which is not how things usually work out for musicians. But there again he didnt fade away, took a dive out of a window to an abrupt end.

Chet is my favourite trumpeter, his sound is so smooth.
I agree he found his way in the later years of his life.
There is some discussion as to whether he threw himself out of that hotel window or whether he just fell due to his drug habit.

            • dusk arising

Chet really is unique and has attracted much rumour and scandal in his time, i.e. conflicting stories about how he lost his teeth, was it a drug deal story invented by himself or the car crash. Pairing with amazing mulligan brought them both further into the limelight. Chet totally self taught, unable to read a note was able to hold his own in any orchestra/horn section before he became a famous crooner. My fav's of his are 'imagination is funny' and 'i fall in love too easily'.
