The End

Lorna

Stop struggling little fish

Stop struggling

And I will sit by you

And stop struggling too

Together we will explore

This new state

Of unambitious fate

And because we have each other

We can agree as breath slows

That Quiet is the friend

We will invite to join us

For he too knows

There is no need for noise ever again

Lovely Laura - I am posting less because if I try to force "every day" the poems get sloppier and sloppier. Sorry they seem to be in such a sad vein these days. All your comments are so comforting and helpful........

            • Laura🌻

No worries my friend! No apologies necessary! I totally understand! Just know that I’m here if you need anything...anything at all!

Great to see you posting - missed your work and you are back with a great read.

              • Lorna

You're lovely and kind as usual Michael......... Penguins and all. Thought of another one - Penguin pulling another penguin on water skiis ( damn how to spell?) with maybe junior on shoulders..... oh dear they're in my head now.

                • Michael Edwards

Sounds great - now all I need is a bit of time to put them all together. Thanks so much.. I did a series of gnome cartoons a few years back and they somewhat took over my life - mind it doesn't happen to you. lol

                  • Lorna

That would be frustrating as my artistic (drawing) talents are hiding somewhere ... at least I've never been able to find them..... so that would be a headful of gnomes stuck in the medulla oblongata - what a mess.

                    • Michael Edwards

Especially if you met my two starring gnomes - Barrington and Athelstan - they featured very British humour.

You see, we have missed you, and not forgotten about you either. Your poetic prose will endure the over whelming attention you so deserve. Writing such beautiful silent things. Gorgeous to see you back.

                        • Lorna

Kevin - this is an overwhelmingly beautiful set of comments which I will cherish. You are lovely.

He was dying (terminal lung cancer) when he wrote that song Brian and made it a point to have it be the last song he recorded. Isn't it beautiful. Thanks for your comments.....
