Birthday Valentine.

Goldfinch60

Such a special day,

The day of love.

The day when loved ones remember,

Remember their love for each other

Is boundless and endless.

From the time they met

Until forever,

That love will never die.

But for him,

For her,

It is a very special day

As it is the day of his birth.

That day remembered

When he arrived in this world ,

Only to meet her in his life,

So they became one soul,

Going forward to eternity.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A friend of ours went on holiday this week, before she went we joked about Valentines day and she said her husbands birthday was on Valentines Day so I wrote this for them and gave it to her before she left.

A lovely write Gold. I would probably end up singing to folk. They would run away. Awww! lol. I would like to be inspired to give poem to people at times too though.

      Thank you Orchi.

I give poems to strangers and they are always grateful. In the coffee shop we go I often write poems and give them to people. I wrote one the other day for an elderly couple and when they got up to leave they came over to us and shook my hand in gratitude, I will put that poem up on the site soon.

Is my problem that I sing to them, and it terrifies them, so they run away, if I try to give them anything? heehee.

How kind I also have a special little man in my life who was born on the day of love.

What a little beauty - and what a great gesture.

Thank you Michael. I often give people poems in the coffee bar where we go. The manager refers to me as their 'resident poet'.

            You certainly write them Goldfinch!.
Do you ever wonder about how receptive to poetry most people are? In my mind most regard poetry as rather effeminate and 'poofter-ish' so i keep it to myself. Some i believe don't see past the need for every line to rhyme.
I think you are very brave giving your poetry to folk, especially strangers.

Thank you d a, I have been doing it for a few years now, obviously some of the derogatory ones are not given out but those I have written and given out have been very well received.
