Acts Chapter 6 parts

As was Jesus, so was Stephen
Filled full of the Spirit then
When appointed as a deacon
To help the Grecian women
When the daily food was given
He a deacon, one of seven
And indeed, they all sure filled be
By the Spirit for this, see
Necessary tasks to employ
They did it with gladness, joy
Full of wisdom and the Spirit
Serving suitably and fit
Stephen, Philip, and Prochorus
Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas
And Nicolas, this the group be
They did work effectively
And too said of Stephen, he be
A witness radiantly
Full of faith and of the Spirit
He devoted, every whit
Full of power, did wonders great
And miracles, not chance, fate
For he one all full of good grace
As an angel was his face
O what glorious demonstration
Of the Lord to each nation
Such a powerful witness, for
Dynamic, confident, sure
Though receiving a martyr's crown
Has a name of great renown
Come, inspire us, give us passion
As he had for Christ your Son
Light too bright for evil schemings
He truth preached, exposed wrong things
A flame of fire seems extinguished
Now burns in glory instead

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7.8.7. metre. We might not always succeed, if we try to live up to a name-sake, where they have a good example from the past. And it's no excuse me saying my name is spelt different anyway!

Augustin said "Stephanus non orarat : Paulum non in Ecclesium erat" Had Stephen not prayed : Paul would not have been in the CHURCH !
Sometimes we understimate Deacons and regard them as a Lower Order comparead with the Elders & Pastor ; only concerned withphysical & Material and not the Spiritual ! However in Gods estimation all Members of a local Church are of equal value : AMEN !
