Bring Along a Lantern
Night is not
The only dark thing
In the sky this eve
There are
Cormorants and crows
Here too
Both despised
By fisherman and
Farmers
Come winter tho
I too shall be thus
Exposed and starkly
Juxtaposed against
A backcloth of both
Pure and brilliant white
So I do beg thee
Bring along a lantern
And draw the night behind you

A fine write Neville. We going for a night-walk? I went once, but the battery in me torch ran out. Doh! Well, you told us to bring a lantern, but I thought a troch would do....
always carry a spare with ya... ta orchidee.... N
Nicely penned Neville full of intrigue
Cheers Andrew me old mate.....
I like how you intertwined the darkness with a sense of hope.
For me it took me to a nighttime forest with a lantern to light my path
But then again Iām always in the forest!
thank you sylviasearcher, are you a lumber jackess, or am I a jack ass.... š
No one cuts down the trees in my forest Neville!
But you may sit under the green canopy with your lantern if you like.
š
am on me way...................
Another intriguing write from the writer of enigmatic poetry.
I can feel myself blushing... cheers Michael....
A feel of the true medieval in this atmospheric write - - loved those final two lines especially Nev.... you create mystery which is firstly read and leaves me thirsty for seconds.
Well read me well and drink me dry.... you are again so very kind my friend... N
Who's gonna despise you lit up against the backdrop like that and listening to the snowmen chattering
What did the snowman say to the other snowman? Answer...."Can you smell carrots?".
Can you smell a smile..... cheers DA .. I was thinking the first snowman may have said to the second snowman snow woman no cry....................... š
Bring along a lantern, conjures up images of many a stories written about the Middle Ages.
Thnx, Neville
Thank you Suresh... we still use them around my neck of the woods... N
