SCENTS OF SPRING ~ ANGELA & BRIAN ~ A SONNET

ANGELA & BRIAN

SPRINGTIME ~ ALWAYS BRINGS TULIPS FROM AMSTERDAM !

SPRING is the loveliest Season of them all

A source of Life & love and gentle things

Reward for Winters frost and icy pall.

A time when fledglings spread their tiny wings.

Spring is the gentlest Season of them all

When Lambs their frail appendages must try

The sheep stay close ~ concerned lest they should fall

And gently nuzzle them to help them try !

SPRING is the brightest Season of them all

Spring flowers ~ yellow mauve & red & blue

And grasses growing silky ~ slender ~ tall

And trees with leaves of green of every hue !

SPRING is the shortest Season of them all

Since WINTER ~ heeding SUMMERS eager call !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love A & B 🧡🧡🧡

SPRING in the UK does not begin (officially !) for 3 weeks !

It is still FEBRUARY ~ usually the coldest month of UK year

but it feel like SPRING ! As hot as AUCKLAND (21 C = 70 F)

and NO RAIN ! I (BRIAN) went for a walk in the local Woods

after work and Nature is responding ! Daffodils ~ Crocuses &

Tulips were in full bloom and the Bluebells were in full leaf

The overall effect is to make ENGLAND & ESSEX very Springy !

It has certainly arrived - cut the grass for the first time yesterday and the garden is looking a picture - so many flowers in full bloom.

Spring certainly has appeared but that all changes over the next week apparently as we could have some snow.

A fine write and pic/clip B&A, going back to 1958 I see. But another 'sensible' song!

THANKS UNCLE STEVE : WE CHOSE THIS VERSION because it showcases all the diverse colours & varieties of TULIPS. Tulips in the open are always tansient but always beautiful . The Tulip Fetival in Spalding is a great even as is a visit to the Dutch bulbfields. I love NZ but it is so so far from everywhere ! Wether the UK implements BREXIT or not the diversity of Europe wiforever be just over (or under !) the Channel !
          Blessings & Love

Yes dear B & A - Spring has arrived early this year and in our county of milder than mild southern Cornwall it is showing its fervour with more than expected with buckets of blooms and baskets of blossoms, on near-naked trees......... I love the homage your sonnet pays to glorious Spring.
