Peace Progress - Chronicles Series (1)

Tune: St Hugh

('Lord teach us how to pray aright')

1 Chronicles 12 v.18

*********

The Spirit said through Amasai

An army captain nigh

We are your people, King David

We shall not keep this hid

We are on your side, Jesse's son (i.e. David)

You the anointed one

Peace, peace to you and unto who

That help you, sure they do

For your God helps you, so you shall

Make progress, prosper well

We shall be loyal, encourage

You, so take bold courage

So David did them welcome there

His people, they did share,

In his victories, gained the land

God worked by His good hand

        blessed are the choir masters
who make sense of it all
a note wrong here can sound a din
no matter if errors are small
