They spring from the mountainside,
Two separate lives that become one,
The river of life is formed.
Flowing through woods and hills,
Flowing through meadows,
Where natures greenery salutes,
Salutes the life giving power
Of this magnificent waterway.
It flows into the night
And the moonshine reflects its wonder
As it allows the mermaids to dance,
To dance in its flowing majesty.
It goes on towards the sea,
The sea of life where we all meet
As our journey continues,
Continues for eternity.

A lovely write and pic Gold. Who's that composer I should never listen to? Who should be banished - as you've said?! I forgot. Tell me, so I will remember not to tune in to him.
Sir Thomas Beecham, when asked if he had played any Stockhausen replied " No but I have often trod in some!"
Ahh, that's the guy! Stock-wotsit.
I've always loved the Smetana work and the river is magnificent - I recall going on a trip on it. Great write as always Andy.
Thank you Michael, what a treat to have gone down that river.
It was only a day trip but still quite an experience.
Greta write G have never seen it but it looks like heaven and you did it justice
Thank you Andrew. I too have never seen it but I have heard the music many times.
