Precious Scars
Where would I be without these
Precious scars my friend
My very own Kintsugi

- Comment from author about the poem: Kintsugi is literally the ancient Japanese art of repairing something, traditionally a bowl or vessel with gold lacquer or thread and making it more beautiful .. there is no attempt to hide the flaw, crack or fracture.. I have been collecting such scars and artifacts for many years.... go Google and have a beautiful day.... N

Your loving assurance of the value of scars when faced and borne comes through these three tender and informative lines - - a revealing write about love my friend.
Thank you kindly & true my friend.... bless ya and have a blessed day too.... Neville
ah I meant to mention how apt the illustration of Jananese Kintsugi - - another something new learnt today...
I have several of those old pots too my friend... x
OK, so you noticed i'm a broken old croc. I didn't get this cracked up without working at it you know.
Your words reminded me of the piece 'scars' i published last month. Whereas my suggestion was we conceal the damage life has inflicted upon us, kintsugi is a proudly displayed scar adding or even validating the age or preciousness of the article.
Gosh you must be hideous! LOL
I am and I thank you for reminding me ....... cheers DA my friend... Neville
My wife had kidney cancer 7 years ago and had a kidney removed - it saved her life but left her with a 14ins scar - that scar is the most beautiful reminder of how blessed we both are.
A precious scar as reminded by this super little write.
I can absolutely relate to that my friend & have a very similar experience myself.. thank you for considering these words.... N
Good write N. Can ya mend those fossils that I dropped at an antiques show?!
anything is possible orchidee.. except for being able to strike a match on a strawberry jelly.... N
Aww, but I wanted to strike a match on a …….. It would be the highlight of my year. 'Sad' I know! lol.
maybe next year eh....
Could I light a match on a raspberry jelly then? And haven't I got anything better to do with my time? lol.
Try gelignite or gelatin, both the same really ... light the fuse.. no need to retire & relax .....boom boom
Those scars can be so meaningful within your life.
Absolutely... thanks for making the connection... 🙂
Loves scars are deeper
But those who mend them are even more precious
Thank you my friend for visiting and your kind comments.. all good things, Neville
