TOFFEE AND COFFEE
I truly like my toffee
And I sure do like my coffee
And I like my toffee squashy
And I like my coffee frothy
But my toffee chewed with coffee
Makes the toffee go all soggy
And I end up feeling groggy
So the toffee coffee pleasure be
When toffee’s swallowed separately.

Brilliant fun write Michael and great cartoon.
Some years ago at our Church I was on duty and arrived early and a swan was waiting by the entrance to get in. I enticed it back to the river with biscuits. I also wrote a poem about it, if I remember I'll put it up tomorrow.
Thanks Andy - should have posted the cartoon at Christmas but better late than never. look forward to the swan ode.
Oh lol, a fine write and pic Michael. I seen a couple of cats in church, but they were not the 'church cats', so they didn't catch the church mice.
It's odd isn't it but my wife tells me that butterflies are regular visitors in our local RC church.
Yep, well swallows and sparrows are allowed in anyway, and should even be allowed to build their nests inside (Psalm 84 v.3). Miss Berles keep butterfly collections?
She hasn't done yet but might want to. I'll leave it Lepidoptera - err leave it up to her.
That's witty - 'Leave-it-up-to-her'! So we mustn't shoo birds out of church buildings. Nor Guide Dogs - it's done in some places, hopefully not churches - shame on them. Some at rather eccentric churches bring their pet dogs too (non-guide dogs). I was saying hello to some only recently. I bring Fido along.
HI UNCLE MIKE : We're both on a food kick today but I'll wager my Lamb & Claret against your COFFEE / TOFFEE any day !
Your cartoon reminded me of BEN ZEPHANIAS : Be kind to Yo Turkey : This Christmas ! Thanks for sharing

I must look up BZs poem - cheers A
Although I’m not that fond of toffee nor coffee they have both got stuck in my mouth. lol
Hope it is permanently stuck - thanks Sylvia.
Ha ha- your witty sketches have me chuckling again Mike - -- I love the expressions on those surprised faces - -- and as for the verse tis a pleasure to see the juggle of words rhymed to perfection........ a fave for sure.
You really do me great honour witg your kind words - thank you so much Fay.
I take mine very strong and black.. no sugar.... I like turkey too, I might add and with loads of sage and onion stuffing and gravy and roast potatoes and and ........ N
How about Turkish Coffee? Can't beat a good roast and mastered by the Brits and now spread across the world.
Must go - Village Committee meeting tonight - why did I allow myself to be nominated?
Turkish coffee minus any sugar would be right up my street.. Ah the dreaded village committee meeting... I resigned my position several years before moving to somewhere in the middle of nowhere to avoid amongst other things village committee meetings.. have a good un... N
That's beyond a choke!
My coffee is either mocha beans or kenyan.... i don't like the bitterness of most beans. Oh yes, i once had blue mountain beans which are four times the price... it wasn't four times as good though.
Either are good as long as it's properly prepared - none of those awful force fed machines for me - just properly filtered and fresh. Thanks dusk.
I'm sure you can get Toffee Coffee at Starbucks, without any sogginess. But if you twist your tongue and ask for Coffee Toffee they probably won't have any. We shy away from Toffee, but we have lots of Taffy, and you can get Caffy Taffy....Oops, now I'm doing it. Well you sure made me smile today. Thanks - Phil A.
Actually we used to be able to get coffee flavoured toffee - what I do dislike is that awful Banoffee pie they serve in some restaurants - cheers muchly Phil.
