He’s gone!
How could that be?
All my life I have known him,
His music pervades my life.
I have heard all his interpretations,
The classical composers
Were putty in his hands
As their notes were transformed
Into the glory of Jazz.
Bach and Mozart,
Handel and Schuman,
Ravel and Satie
So many composers,
So many variations,
As he brought the joy of jazz
Into my world.
I will miss him,
But his music will live on,
Live on in my life,
Live on for eternity.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have just heard that Jacques Loussier has died. I have been listening to him all my life and he has always been my 'go to' musician if I cannot determine what music I would like to hear. So sad that he has gone, but I have most of his music in my collection so he will not be forgotten. RIP Jacques.

Great artist, great write. I must listen to more of his work.
Thank you Michael, yes his music is wonderful.
A fine write and tribute Gold. I missed Joseph The Hymnographer. He would give me tips on hymn-poems. Well, he was last around in the 9th Century, when I met him in person - before 1066!
Thank You Orchi.
