Tune: O Waly Waly
('An upper room did our Lord prepare')
2 Chronicles 20 v.15-25
*********
Upon Jahaziel, a Levite
Came the Spirit with insight bright
He said, Hearken to me, all of you
King Jehoshaphat, Judah too
The LORD says, Be not afraid, dismayed
Of multitude 'gainst you arrayed
For the battle is not yours, here see
But it is God's, so shall it be
You shall not need to fight at this stage
But set yourselves, stand still, engage
And see the salvation of the LORD
He shall be with you, true His word
And so they went, the King to them said
Believe in the LORD, he has led
You this far, and still will go with you
So shall you be stablished anew
Believe His prophets, and so shall you
Prosper, He will act for you too
To site of battle they went with praise
To the LORD, firm on Him their gaze
Then the LORD He did send ambushes
Against their enemies, seen this
Moab, Ammon, Seir, they did fight
Destroyed each other out of sight

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 9898 metre. There's a spurious version that says I led the singing and praise (verse 5). That was enough to make Judah's enemies turn on themselves and kill each other - cos it was torment for them! heehee. What? It's an almost true version, you say? lol. Just call me to be rid of your enemies. A song or two from me should do it. Simple!

Thanks Angela. Ya last 5 minutes with me singing too?!
Fine work Orchi
Thanks M. Did Miss Berles sing to them too?
Yes but she wasn't salved - she had her eyes shut.
She helped me scare 'em off - the spurious version I mentioned! Did you sing to them too?
I suspect there might well be something to those spurious comments...... there seems to have been an awful lot of killing in the Bible.... I'm not a great fan of killing.... N
Thanks N. Yes, especially Old Testament, when they dealt with 'raw' God, as it were. Plus, I was around then, and they couldn't stand my singing. They took the drastic way out.
I suppose I could make the odd exception..
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
