Misrepresentation
She was so upset when she got home
She felt cheated and claimed
He had misrepresented himself
…
He on the other hand was genuinely
Surprised and disappointed
By her general attitude towards him
…
He forgot he wore a wheelchair
Yet chose not to comment
On her misspelt tattoo and three eyes

A fine write N. Yes, some misrepresented me when they told others I could sing! lol.
Gotta laugh though don't cha.. thank you sir...
A case of misunderstanding may be behind many an upset - - I love the poignancy and added mystery in the phrase you use in the final stanza Nev. "He forgot he wore a wheelchair" - -- how heart-tuggingly poetic is that. - Fay x
Bless ya this fair but very windy Sunday mane my friend... N x
Hum I'm confused I must say, even after a few trys. Must be missing my third eye 😉
Never mind, maybe it’ll come to you when you least expect it... thanks for checking in...
Very poignant read and then I came to the last line - I just loved it.
thank you Michael, yes.. there is a message there.. some will get it straight away, others will find it later.... it matters not as long as it makes folk think.... N
Hello Neville,
A poignant and good poem.
Empathy with others especially different from ourselves is indeed a quality we all need to work on
Keep writing FineB!
How very kind of you FineB and how very true... am glad you were able to relate to this little scribble... much appreciated too........ Neville
Expectations vs Reality
Precisely well done you... you can choose between the cocoa nut, the goldfish or a cigar... N
Confusion often reigns and can lead to awful times but when the confusion is cleared all can be well.
thank you sir .. let's hope so eh'.....
Third eyes huh?
Best closed.
Funny how sometimes we are acutely aware of how amidst the social constructs of our being we feel mis-represented. Somehow people see this other version of us. Not the version we ever intended at all?
Not sure even a third eye would help?
Or maybe it would? Maybe I have my third eye closed?
My brain hurts that’s for sure!
No wonder a forest with no people is so appealing!
Poignant write on the disappointment of interactive perception
thank you, then folk are often fearful of differences too don'tcha think.. Neville
Oh I don’t know. I’m not like folk. At least I don’t think I am.
I fear the difference between what I am and what I hoped I would be...
