Watching Snooker.

Goldfinch60

The red ball goes into the pocket

The white stops behind the black,

The black is then struck by the white

It too goes into  pocket,

Eight points are totalled.

The red ball goes into the pocket

The white stops behind the black,

The black is then struck by the white

It too goes into  pocket,

One hundred and twenty points are totalled.

What happened to the other points?

The one hundred and twelve,

Those I seem to have missed.

Falling asleep can be such a pain!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a bit of fun. Make sure you look at the video, amazing guitar playing. One of the comments said "I can't even play the wrong notes that fast!"

Oh lol, good write Gold. I saw a comedy, though hardly any about these days. Someone had trouble getting to sleep, so he watched late-night chess on telly! lol.

I'm not too sure if you're talking about pool, but I suck at it. Billiards to be more precise. And that guitar playing reminds me of a band called Dragonforce.

And for those watching in black and white, the brown ball is behind the green.
Falling asleep in the 21st century is now forgiveable.... modern tellies have that wonderful 'wind back' facility.
But i know just what you mean.

you thought that game would never end..... I much prefer the skill, cut and thrust of shove ha'penny.. but there you are, it takes all sorts... nice little poem sir right in the top pocket...

Shove ha'penny, that took me back, I used to play it in a pub back in the last century, skilful game.

THANKS UNCLE ANDY ~ Finger pickin' good ~ shades of JANGO ? Loved the poem about SNOOKER ! Unlike some games & pastimes its a game ALL MEN (and Some Ladies !) can play. I am a very moderate drinker so I have often won Tournements because everyone else was Bill Werbenicked ! My DAD was teetoal and often won the Newspaper Billiards / Snooker Cup because "He was the Last Man Standing !" Being a Science / Maths Graduate I find Snooker very fascinating ~ scientific & entertaining ~ a Game made for COLOUR TV ! My IDOL is Ronnie O' most of his PEER GROUP have retired ! The main skills are ANGLES ~ ENERGY & thinking ahead for BREAK BUILDING. Some of Ronnies super fast 147s are "Gems of Sport" and mesmerising to watch ~ long may HE REIGN.
        Thanks for sharing ~
Blessings & LOVE to You & CAROL
