AIR.

Fay Slimm.

Air.

Invisible dancer, Air moves with ease
buoyantly changing print
on earth's waiting surface of seasons,
yet Air broadcasts ferment
of mutating chicanery as windswept
in state of weathered
uncertainty a vengeful demon is she.

Air can create dazzle-white sculptures
by modified temperature
then shift from producing icy currents,
drift toward gentler slips
into Spring or swirl gold on autumnal
mellow then send tornadoes
bent on mischievous mission of upset

Yet when sunk in summer depression
Air forgets to ruffle waves,
limp sails need bellows for ventures
but she favours no bluster
when breeze, tiptoeing ballet-laced
trips thru days of slower pulse
as changeling with devious intention.

From waltz to flamenco on coastal hills
Air loves feeling freedom where
clifftops let divas hone ever more skills.

Oh dear, this is where the poet in me comes into conflict with the scientist in me.

So to get myself out of that sillyness i shall picture the coastal hills and the birds forever bringing forth our envy at their flight and mastery of the air.
