DEFINITIONS (2)

THE HANGMAN

Must always perform with  gravity

or there’d be no need for a cavity.

The Heathen

A person who has the sense to be

a believer in only the things he can see.

History

Some revel in history even though

it’s all about fools who lived long ago

Humanity

Consisting of all the human race members

but excluding poets and funeral directors

A JESTER

in olden times a fool in weird garments

in modern times a member of parliament.

Murder

To create a vacancy in the human race

without a successor for the vacant place.

"Humanity" and "A Jester" are my favorite.
    "Murder" is also quite clever.
    These are really nice, Michael!
Strong with this one, Innovation is. - "Master Yoda"

    • Michael Edwards

Thanks Nicholas - quite like Jester myself especially in light of the incompetent arrogant pompous displays this week in The British Parliament. You would never believe the vote was in favour of leaving the EU in order to regain sovereignty .

    • Goldfinch60

Good ones there Michael, as you probably realise my favourite is the Jester as it tells the real truth.

      • Michael Edwards

And mine as per my comments to Nicholas.

      • Fay Slimm.

Loud applause for your really witty posting - - love the one about Jesters.

        • Michael Edwards

After this last week if you don't laugh at the jesters you'd want to make a voluntary appointment with the hangman.

        • orchidee

Fine writes and pic Michael. But yes, who said poets were human?! heehee.

When will we see the Oxford Edwards Dictionary?

          COMPOSER
          A Mao Tse Tung follower
seen in all the right places

          • Michael Edwards

            COMPOSER
            Gets it all together
            then lets it all out.

Well according to the little red book anyway.
            Cheers dusk.

You've not seen me in my fishnets. Love your ripostes - thanks so much for taking the time to reply with such humour. All the best to the both of you.
