How Else Would We Know?

Nicholas Browning

Reminded thus of words unfound,

Sipping wine on my settee -

I travel through the midst of thought

To grasp what reality brings.

An artist I've never been,

A poet forever to be;

Traveling wide and wondering why -

To disprove what the false believe.

Words can bring art to us all.
Art can bring words to us all.

My very first poem was written because the way a piece of artwork affected me.

    • Nicholas Browning

That's a lovely way to look at things, Finch. Art does indeed affect people in such a way, and you chose to express it through words.
Thanks for sharing that, and for stopping by.

Poetry and art are different branches of the same tree.

      A painting evokes thoughts
      a poem paints pictures '

My brush is my pen, because I can't draw 😀
I see them as similar, or both arts of their own but I separate them when I write about it.
Thank you for the very true comment, sir, - and also for stopping by.

You mustered something poignant and indeed your words paint a picture on the canvas of the mind. Another ache though. Like I was reaching out for something that had no form or shape and no one else could see. But still I sat and pondered it though it evaded my capture. And still I wanted to sense it. Knowing I never could.

A good way to attract the Muse is quietly sit and wait for those "words unfound" - - an inspired write Nick.

          • Nicholas Browning

Indeed, Fay. Sometimes all we can do is think. Thank you for stopping by and for your words. Much appreciated!

Words unfound - to disprove - false belief

Hey there Suresh, thanks for stopping by! Spirits lower spirits sometimes. That's why they call it "Under the influence." Much appreciated!

How we gonna disprove maths skills? We - Gold and I anyway - know Fibonacci sequences - oohhh! Google if not known!

              • Nicholas Browning

I'm just saying that his equation for the number 50 yesterday was not applicable through algebra! I want my money back! Oh, and the Fibonacci sequence is quite cool.

                • orchidee

Let's try a 'Fibs' as they say - starts OK, then into deep water before long... 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,65,109...…...

Finding the right words aye, that's the rub. Is it art, if I change "is" to "was".?
Do poems fall from trees? Or must a man intercede? Are there such things as poets who can not spell, witches who cannot brew, Seers who can't foretell, or artists who won't tattoo. It's all about the words. Loved this one.- Phil A.

Always a battle of questions, isn't it?
                    Thank you very much, Phil.
                    I'm glad you enjoyed!
