Set Her Free.

Goldfinch60

Where are you God?

Why do you punish her?

Why do you punish me?

She is so ill

Why not take her

As you did Jesus,

He is now in heaven

And she will be there,

If you take her to you.

I know Her Spirit is within her,

So Her Spirit will be free,

Free to go on in joy.

Her Spirit is trapped,

Trapped in her world,

Her world of dementia,

Getting increasingly more confined,

Set her free Lord,

Set her free.

I was unsure whether to publish this poem but something caused me to do so.

A sensitive write Gold. Pulled both ways, it seems. To stay or to go? There's a sort of 'pat' answer that death (to name it, so to be clear) is a 'final healing'. Yet it is a healing somehow, I feel. Every situation has different angles though.
I would probably see it as punishment if in your situation. But truly, I don't think it is. The Psalmist says similar in places - Why, etc,...?'

Thank you Orchi, yes I agree with you. It is a big dilemma.

You are a strong man, stronger than most of the men I've known in my short time on the earth.
I believe death is a benevolent thing, if in such a situation that it's so wrenching that it makes someone ask for it, so someone could be better off.
I felt this, very much. I don't have much of a heart to send you, but I send you my best wishes and hopes as your situation unravels. I've witnessed firsthand my grandmother and grandfather go through this, and it was not a pleasant sight. I can only imagine.
Best regards, Finch - and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

                  • Goldfinch60

Thank you Nicholas for your understanding and your so kind words, it is very much appreciated.

We hold such faith in the 'after' that none could do anything but be supportive of your wish for this end to earthly suffering and a new beginning.
A very testing time for you and for any among us with a conventional faith.
I can read in you that, whereas today's writing is cry which a part of you needs to voice, it is not the whole of your feelings.
You are so brave to give us these words which help us to begin to share some of this pain with you.

                    • Goldfinch60

You understand me so well da and I am truly grateful for that.

All feelings such as this whether written or spoken need to be heard or seen. This is like a prayer, asking for God's help.Let us all hope that it is answered. God bless you.- Phil A.

                      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Phil, yes, to me it is like a prayer, but I wonder ifit will be answered,
