Victims of Truth

Neville

Victims of Truth

I am a victim of truth

You are a victim too

Therefore

We are both victims

Of honesty

I would but say this tho

If the swallow truly be

The dolphin of the skies

I would have you

Shade your eyes

Let me be your ocean

Then come drown in me

  • Fay Slimm.

An engagingly poetic invitation in this fascinating love poem which your pen easily disguises - - a warm tender first read of my day dear friend.

  • Neville

I am honoured and oh so bloomin true and then some dear Fay... Am off to take a stroll by the sea for real in a few moments.. West Bay is calling as it does increasingly these days.... N

    An enjoyable read.

I love the last two lines, I feel like I should have written them, they are so full of painful romance.

    • Neville

those two ingredients often go hand in hand... thank you my friend..

    • sylviasearcher

Although it could also be read with a hint of cynicism to the tragic romantic. Like a satire. So I’m left uncertain.
I still like it because that is about where I am at with the idea of romance.

      • Neville

Aww bless ya sylviasearcher.. Romance aint all its cracked up to be.. in fact, I much prefer Florence & Zebedee and Naples and La Spezia and and ...

        • sylviasearcher

You see I don’t even know what you mean by all those references...

A fine write N. I dunno if it's about romance, cos Fido never lets me get that far. He's holding me back. Woof! Quiet, Fido. lol.

          • Neville

Good old Fido... cheers orchidee... N

            Neville,

I enjoyed reading your poem! Your penned words that can be interpreted in many ways...depending on the reader! I’d call it a smorgasbord of interpretations!

Cooeeee, Sir N. Should I put Fido out the back yard a while?

              • Neville

                Why what are you planning..

                • orchidee

Maybe something 'romantic' or 'exciting'! Ooohhh! And a blindfold for Fido.

                  And be my dolphin
                  in a sea of dreams.
                  - this drew me in and makes me want to write a take on some of the ideas you have used so well.

                  • Neville

Be my guest sir.. thanks for the visit too.......... N

Okay - just a few lines

                      In a sea of dreams
                      be my dolphin
                      swim with me
                      like a swallow
                      and soar
                      in foaming cloud
                      and season
                      our lives
                      with the salt
                      of your spray

I reckon we all get that feeling.. there is something about the lay of words and of course our imaginings.... and the ocean and the sky and of life and love and butterflies..... x
