CONNECTION.

Fay Slimm.

Connection.

It is there at the inner edge,
where Self-awareness
meets the ocean of Being
our souls can grow most.

Yield opens new thresholds
and exposes the peace
of stress-free dimensions
by wonder's experience.

If doubt allows room faith
engages with proof and
lights space where begins
        our connection with bliss.

Time ceases as solid feels
weightless and silence
seems loud when awed by
leaping all boundaries.

It is there at the inner edge,
where Self-awareness
meets the wonder of Being
        that our spirit can grow.

A lovely write Fay. I got a bit miffed at a leader, who says he goes off on 'retreats' 4 times a year.
It's good to do, but I thought: 'What about the staff under him? It's OK for him to swan off when he pleases, and get his 'meditation' and stuff. When do the real workers get their breaks? Grrr. Doh!
The staff think: 'I should like to have the time to swan off like he does. He's in Cuckoo Land'.

You can beat an egg and you can beat a carpet folks but you just can't beat a bit of introspection & self indulgence with of course subsequent blissful results.... Tho my response to these great words is partly writ with tongue in cheek, there is much truth to what you have proposed here Fay and the compliment I pay........A very touching poem my friend... Hhhmmm - Tongue in cheek is perhaps a general male response to meditation Nev - maybe its more a female thing this need for finding oneself by yielding to Now - - - however the feeling of bliss and its connection with spirit should surely be open to both genders - Thanks however my friend for the interesting comment which could open doors to more discussion eh? -- - Fay

Thanks dear Fay.. interesting that you should mention meditation which is what I was picking up from your most recent poem... I say interesting because I try to meditate twice a day and every day.. it is part of my kongo zen way of trying to live and lead my life.... maybe one day I shall go into more detail about my ordination into the kongo zen priesthood way back around 1990.... Your friend Neville x

I would be interested to learn about the zen priesthood when you are able to go into detail a bit more - I knew you had something special ........... x

Another lovely write, Fay. It is indeed important for us to be self aware, and be aware that self awareness can either bring much joy or much harm.

Warm thanks Nick for adding your viewpoint to this interesting subject.

Mum used to beat her carpets - she had an old fashioned carpet beater. Anyway I am with Nicholas on this fine write.

Huge thanks my friend - - not an easy subject about which to describe........ glad you enjoyed the read.

Let each grow at their own pace and if faith leads you there, then so be it. And leave the door open for new ideas and knowledge

              Loved the write

A most welcome comment and thank you so much. Yes I agree it is right to celebrate that each has their own pace of spiritual growth.

GOOD EVENING FAY ! SELF AWARENESS (and Self Worth) is a very important human trait exhibited by Children very early in life. Children show awareness that they are Individual & Special ! Schools that foster Self Expression in Music & Writing & Art are often amazed how perceptive children are of themslves - others and the Evironment - Often much more than Adults whose Self Awareness gets dulled by negativity ! This individual Self Expression facilitates "Growth of the Soul" ! Doubt (as you indicate) morphs into Faith & Proof ! Time ceases and allows contemplation and Self Awareness & Being become one ! This allow insight resulting in Spiritual Development. These developmental processes of the Soul & Spirit of Man continue (at very different rates) throughout our Adlt Life - AMEN
Thanks for an excellent dip into the BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES
Blessings & love in the Spirit

A big thank you for enlightening comments on a subject which has for long held my close attention - -- - I agree too that children by nature show the way forward - their awareness cannot be overlooked as a learning curve for many adults. So glad you got the message behind the lines dear duo.
