LITTLE BOY BLUE (1)

Michael Edwards

Little boy blue

come blow your horn

it’s really quite easy

but be forewarned

you need to be subtle and heaven knows

it’s so much easier when someone else blows.

Yeah, but only if they blow the tune you elected them to do in the houses of that fine picture of yours.
    Nudge nudge wink wink.

There's encouragement for more to blow their own trumpet within or without our political system after the farcical show our MP's have enacted in recent months.

    • Michael Edwards

But they aint blowin' it are they. They are in complete denial of the fact that (whether you agree with the result or not) we voted to leave. Total sovereignty was the underlining factor for those who voted leave and all they are talking about is a an inferior half way house which is even worse than either the stay in or leave options. Horn blown.

I hope that they can blow the right notes, blowing a horn is not easy.

      Good artwork Michael.

Thanks Andy - should I have labelled this as 18+ or am I reading too much into it?

It depends on whether the minds of some go down mucky lanes.

It's so much easier to be in the opposition. Forewarned, the political system around the globe is falling apart.
Are we really losing it? Are we heading for extremes and that will only lead to total loss of freedom.

          • Michael Edwards

Total freedom is something to reach for but contact will always evade us.

The horn of politics blows every which way toward a tuneless future methinks - - your watercolour is an artistic delight - thanks for the pleasure of seeing it Michael.

I wrote the poem with tongue in cheek but thanks to the fact that I unwittingly posted a picture of the Parliament with it the discussion and 'interpretation' seems to have taken a different path to the mucky one. Yes the future does appear to be without melody - pleased you like the watercolour.

There is a '(1)' in the title.
Does that mean there's a continuation or something?
