Tune: Song 34

('Forth in they name, O Lord I go')

*******

Help us,  O Lord, your Spirit sure

Comes to dwell with us evermore

Give fresh inspirings by your grace

That we your Spirit in us trace

Where dull or barren, help us grow

And you, light of the world, to show

Not trust to feelings sole, alone

But to your gracious presence known

Forgive where we do quench or grieve

Your Spirit, or Him not receive

Or where He subdued, doubts or fears

So only a small spark appears

But not in human energy

Not our will-power may it be

Not just our own plans, decidings

Rather do your will in all things

Growing daily in Christ your Son

Into His image,every one

Showing, sharing, his light and love

Filled with His Spirit, holy dove
