It happens all the time,
You wait for somebody,
You have made an arrangement,
An arrangement to meet,
Or to do something together,
But you are left waiting,
Waiting for them to arrive.
It is just one of those things,
One of those things in life.
Many people do it,
Do not turn up on time,
That is why I find,
Why I find that being punctual,
Can be very lonely.

A good write Gold. I suppose there is lonely in this. But it's also very annoying. We have taken the time to be 'on time', only to have others bumbling about and being late.
Or they are there, but mess about in the background before calling you for your appointment.
Or worse, no-one telling you anything as to why there is a delay.
Thanks Orchi, some people just do not care if they keep others waiting.
I feel for you sir... nothing quite so frustrating as waiting for someone who is late.. except for maybe when you just know they are gonna be late... Your concluding two lines are fantastic and certainly resonate ..... Neville
Thank you Neville, I often say those last two lines to people.
Great minds eh'...... my pleasure..
Agree with Neville that those two final lines say it all Goldy - - keeping to prior arranged times is so very important
Thank you Fay, some people just do not care.
As a big fan of Weather Report I'm pleased to see your music choice today. I have everything they ever published.
Punctuality is something i am a stickler for and i do not appreciate other peoples poor attitude in this respect.
I recall telling off a specialist nurse in Hospital for keeping me waiting 35minutes without explanation and assuming that i had nothing better to do. I insisted they make another appointment for me because i had another appointment to keep and had no intention of being late for it.
Had it not been for my 2nd appointment i would have sat it out quietly thinking that i could never behave in such a way without contacting the waiting person with an explanation.
I too am a stickler for time keeping and it gets so frustrating and annoying when others are late.
I only have four albums by Weather Report but used to listen to them quite a lot back in the seventies, lot of good music in the seventies.
Heavy Weather was my Fav Weather Report LP. I wore out 2 copies on vinyl and eventually got it on CD. Track 2 'a remark you made' is my all time fav track of theirs.
Must remember that Very casual re times. Your words express your views succinctly and make a decent read Thank you
Thank you Moordy, much appreciated.
Lateness drives me insane. If I say a certain time I'm always there but others seem to ignore the courtesy. Super write about it.
Something else about which we concur Michael. Thank you.
I have no time to be kept waiting
For I have so many other ways
for my time to be wasting
P.S. Idle hands and idle mind, I have
So very true Suresh.
Thnaks UNCLE ANDY ~ Love the MUSIC (new to me !) sounds very like a DIALING TONE when someone puts you on hold for 10 mins ~ usuually Scott Joplin & the Entertainer ~ which is equally annoying as people being LATE ! If you live in KENTUCKY (USA) there is an hour difference from one side of the Road to the other ~ so they have an excuse ! ONLY IN KENTUCKY !
I think it depends how you were brought up and what one was taught @ School ! My Parents & My Teachers told me that being late for an appointment was th height of BAD MANNERS ~ better to arrive Half an Hour early than Five Minutes LATE ! Being unpunctual is another one of the many negative TRAITS of the 21st C.
Thanks for SHARING & CARING !
Blessings & Love to BOTH of YOU
Love in the Spirit ~ BRIAN & ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Weather Report was a hi profile jazz fusion band of the 70s and 80s, I used to listen to them during that time, I have four of their eleven studio albums.
Time is so precious so being late is as you say the height of bad manners.
To New Zealand soon Brian, I am sure you and Angela will have a wonderful time.
