dawns delight (re-written)

dusk arising

beauty of the dawns delight
the rainbow wings of angels flight
and breathing ecstacy of life
a gift of love, inspired

awakening afresh from dreams
to a conscious,  rediscovering
the joyous place my soul has seen
through shadows of the night

colours,  shapes,  confused,  compete
to paint the dream i crave repeats
where joy of love inspired me
forever reaching higher

still pouring from my fingertips
and softly spoken on my lips
my wonderous dream, suddenly eclipsed
.....with the dawning of your smile

  • Comment from author about the poem: The morning dawns to find you waking from a dream of such intense beauty. So wonderful you lay still reliving its wonder. Slowly consciousness robs your memory but you are distracted now and all thoughts of the dream fade... for you realise your dream lover is there by your side and awakening. And she is smiling into your eyes.

  • Fay Slimm.

A wonderful feeling of dawn when this special smile awakens a dreamer D.A. - - you capture the ecstasy so well here.

    • dusk arising

Oh that every morning could be so... Thank you Fay.

I have had a few dreams that were so dreamy I would happily have not woken... you have certainly captured and done justice to that feeling justice here..... Neville

Yes i agree, in fact dreams are probably the best things in my life right now.... must make a note to spend more time in bed. Thanks Neville.

        • Neville

          am sorry to hear that..

I truly believe dreams are a reality in the alternate universe. Isn't it strange that we rarely remember our dreams, nightmare - yes, dreams - no.

While asleep, our brain waves are transported and attuned to our alternate being in the alternate universe, and so we experience their reality.

HUMBUG! maybe, but what if it could be true, then at least we know somewhere we are truly living it.

          Enjoyed this d.a.

I'd gladly slip through the door into that alternative reality if it exists.
Scientists (the spoilsports) tell us that our minds go into different brainwave patterns in sleep compared to the conscious awake brainwaves. This is why the dreams fade from our conscious minds on waking.... which is flipping frustrating when the day ahead doesn't look too rosey.
Thanks for your comment, always welcomed.

Dawn is such a wonderful time of the day and you have more than captured that wonder with your words.

              • dusk arising

Thank you Goldfinch, I agree with you about dawn being special though i rarely see it these days, making it all the more special when i do.

Finding?... this is one i wrote and published a while ago under my old name on here. Having read so many excellent pieces on MPS i decided it needed a re-write.
I don't think i could ever capture in words the feeling i have tried to convey here though.

Thanks again for your comments Dan, always look forward to reading them.
