The slant of the late day sun
Shadows over the garden walls
Stripes the creatures foraging
Their evening nuts and seeds
Dapples greenery with soft light
Sets off bursts of twinkle
As it skims the bird bath
Kisses us
Then dances off to join the night

It's more than just the garden. I'll answer the call.
Love it!
Lorna,
I’ve missed you dearly!
Let’s answer that garden’s call with a big HELLO!
HELLOOOOO...Lorna!🌞
HAPPY 😃 to ‘see’ you!
~Laura~🌻
Hello right back L......... I've been reading Donna Leon and Guido Brunetti and swimming in the Venice canals........
Ahhh...beautiful Venice!
How many of her novels have you read?
mmmmmmm..... well I recently printed a list so I could keep track and I think it\'s only about 4 so I have many many more to enjoy - now getting from library so have to keep \"score\" .... I gobble books and then two months later wonder why I\'m losing the plots...... but that\'s ok because I have favorites I love to read over and over (with time in between of course).... for instance, Ray Bradbury is definitely an October read.....
Yes, I also love to read...when time permits! I have certain favorites that I reread time and time again!
I've read most of hers - but none in the last 4/5 years - must get up to date.
A lovely write and clip/pic Lorna.
And you are a lovely write and clip/pic yourself Orchi...... have you been good?
yes, but Fido - me imaginary dog (aww) keeps barking if naughty people don't make poems 18+ if they should be! lol.
Are you under 18??? Oh oh, you've learned things you shouldn't know yet!
I love that last line of this joyful poem.
Such a pleasing read and my smile widens on re-reads... into my fav's
Was hoping to make you smile!
reads perfect... I wanna be there
Neville
Isn't it nice that we all share the sun, the twilights and the moon! They have seen every single soul ever put on the earth - always amazes me that Cleopatra and Anthony stood watching the same moon as me.
yeah, and me...
Love the title and you capture it all Lorna and truly peaceful it is. Am on my way to join you there my friend.
I'll put the kettle on!
A super write Lorna.

Very warm and comforting!
Wonderful eventide words Lorna. Evenings can be magical.
I'm admiring how u creatively dance the sun rays off the bird bath. The entire short poem is awesome. Kudos!
Plz comment my newest poem too,. soo nice to read from u again.
The dusk, in my opinion, is a very romantic time of the day, and the evening shadows are very different to the rising sun.
There is a certain romance you have displayed here.
Lorna, I am so enjoying your work as I read my way through the long list. What an ease you bring to the page. I take a delicious bite every day. Thank you. Roger (The desert guy)
