Tune: Easter Hymn

('Jesus Christ is risen today')

***********

Christ arisen every day - Alleluia!

He the Life, the Truth, the Way - Alleluia!

Shines our morn of glory bright - Alleluia!

He the everlasting Light - Alleluia!

Death defeated, powers of hell - Alleluia!

He the Victor, we do tell - Alleluia!

Reigns for e'er in majesty - Alleluia!

Son of God, Saviour He be - Alleluia!

EVery creature join and sing - Alleluia!

Unto Him your tributes bring - Alleluia!

He worthy for evermore - Alleluia!

Reaching to earth's farthest shore - Alleluia!

He shares in our suffering - Alleluia!

Knows and understands each thing - Alleluia!

He full human, full divine - Alleluia!

The cross of His love the sign - Alleluia!

Resurrection hope foe man (mankind) - Alleluia!

Each one may know it, we can - Alleluia!

Come to faith, in Him believe - Alleluia!

His forgiveness, life, receive - Alleluia!

Empty tomb, darkness dispelled - Alleluia!

Death though once it Him had held - Alleluia

Now He lives to die no more - Alleluia!

Brings to us sin's healing cure - Alleluia!

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 7.7.7.7.. posted Saturday a.m. (in UK). Written while by a River - well, a Lake. This caused me to bring in 'every creature' in verse 3, being surrounded by some ducks, geese, coots, etc!

24 Alle whotsits to get the day off to a start - great stuff Orchi ( Andy's got me using that word - I'll make it my word of the day - stuff - there I've said it again.

Thanks M. Yep, Miss Berles got extra supplies of Alleluias in for the Easter season. She gave me 24 for this poem. She got extra 'h's and 'j's too, if we prefer 'Hallelujah!' Stuffing?!
Can you help? What is difference between 'wotsit' and 'whotsit'? I'm still talking rubbish.

      • Michael Edwards

Oh surely you know the difference - it's an 'H'.
As you didn't use your share in Hallelujah I thought I would borrow one.

Thanks N. I got in early, as by the time Australian friends on here read stuff, their day is nearly over! One of my hymn-poem has a line on Easter bunnies, eggs, and bonnets.
