DAY MONTH YEAR

Michael Edwards

DAY MONTH YEAR.

Day, month year

a logical sequence but I fear

not one to which all folk adhere

the sequence button they reset

and change the order so we get:

month, day, year.

    Always enjoy your art.
    Re post:
I believe we should change to:
year, month and day - it's more logical

    • Michael Edwards

Anything is more logical than month day year - ta Suresh.

        My reasoning
A year lasts for twelve months
        A month for 28/31 days
        A day is a day
        So today is 20190430
Makes it much easier for filing, recording and retrieving.
And I just wasted some of your time

So true Michael, it can get confusing.

Brilliant artwork Michael. You say it is a large work, what sort of size?

        • Michael Edwards

          Thanks Andy
The picture when framed will be 30 by 26 ins - which by my standards (being predominantly watercolours) is quite large.

Yes, and it shows Birthdays as month, day, year on here too. Some don't get a birthday at all, in a way! Mine is 18/2 (UK), so it would show as 2/18. When is the 18th month?!

Hhhmmm - the choice seems to be ours then -- I prefer the first number-order myself - and certainly would choose that glorious seascape ..... super first read of my day Michael.

          LOL Thanks Michael
I worked for an American comapny based in Germny
They think WE are the odd folk
But I'm with you DAY MONTH YEAR quite logical
Drive on the left so you can hold your sword in your right and face thy enemies
          Great write

I'm just a simple guy so give me day month year any day (or is that month - or is it year - aw heck I give up).

          • ANGELA & BRIAN

Good Morning UNCLE MIKE : Its 9:30pm here ! SEASCAPE = ESCAPE especially for those (like BRIAN & I) who love sailing ! The M D Y system is American ! Remember 9 / 11 not the 9th of November but the 11th of SEPTEMBER ! Brian knows He was there and his Birthday was 9 / 8 (8th of September). It can be confusing when arranging dates & holidays in America. Churchill said *We are two Countries separated by a common language * and this is one example !
            Blessings & Peace : ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Thank ee Angela - not really a common language any more but it will be if the young folk don't observe basic grammar etc.

Great opportunity to point out how confused a long sea journey can make settlers in a new world.

Your pic has me thinking about holidays.

              • Michael Edwards

Book a room for me - just get the day, month, year right lol

Only two dates matter, when you're born and when you're gone. All else is just score keeping.
Today, here, is 04-30-19 so if I call it 30-04-19, it's still raining out.
Michael, you made me laugh, Thank you for that. Seascape is great Loved your entire post. - Phil A.

I doubt if either will matter when I kick the bucket.
                  Thanks Phil
