FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER ~ The one we decided
To visit ~ It is about thirty minutes
Walk from the car park ~ It is an awesome
Sight and not too cold ~ It moves forward at
About one meter per day ! Glaciers
Are melting due to Global Warming ~ and
May appear to be retreating ~ but in
Essence are always moving forward !
Every Glacier is different ~ We have
Visited Glaciers in CANADA
ALASKA & EUROPE ~ They appear BLUE !
Global Warming is causing Ice Fields
To melt and the sea level to rise ~ which
Causes a Worldwide Coastal Erosion !
SONNET 2 ~ FRANZ JOSEF BY HELICOPTER !
I (ANGELA) did some promotional work on ...
RIOJA for PAPA in and around
AUCKLAND and also arranged some Vineyard
Visits for when PAPA & MAMA come in JUNE !
PAPA sent me some cash but specified ...
It should be a surprise for BRIAN on ...
Our SOUTH ISLAND TOUR ! It just covered
The HELICOPTER RIDE which was a real
Surprise for BRIAN ! He loved every minute !
When we landed on the Glacier : I
Played my first *Game of Snowballs* in NZ !
BRIAN bought a BOOK (got more than CD's)
So he is now an expert on FRANZ JOSEF !
This was our LAST & BEST DAY of the TOUR !

After a sunny and real exciting Day on the Glacier we will
start our Journey back to Christchurch (still in siege mode).
We will overnight at ARTHURS PASS (3000 feet) and are
expecting a fabulous SUNRISE : AMEN Love A & B 🧡🧡🧡

Thanks UNCLE MIKE ~ only one more *Tale from South Island* ~ Tomorrow ! Its 9am (Wednesday) here and we are just driving to CHRISTCHURCH (2.5 hours) and then Flying (4pm NZ time) back to Auckland to complete our Itinery ~ we have been in Paradise (VW Camper Van !)

Flying over a glacier sounds awesome. I once took a helicopter ride through Hawaii's mountains, but a flying over a glacier sounds very interesting.
