IN TRANSCENDENCE
Beyond the lazy babbling weirs
by horizontal sunbeams thrown
the pointing fingered shadows reach
towards a land of gentle mist.
Obscuring vapours twilight cast
eclipsing past presentiment
from episodes of bygone days.
Ascending high in altitudes
above the ripple-spanning waves
to echoes of their soothing sounds
all indecision drifts away.
Thoughts that kindle unsought flames
their burning embers now extinct
in ash the symbols of despair.

Very captivating indeed!
Your words create a visual image in my mind Michael, that image is mine as others will have their own image in theirs.
Love the artwork.
A great start to the day in both words and art - thank you.
Thanks so much Andy.
I'm gonna ramble beyond the weirs then. I never knew there was so much beyond them. Well, I know now, from this fine poem!
Oh there's a lot beyond the weirs - including Ash Berles.
Thanks for sharing Uncle Mike ~ You sure have waxed lyrical today ! Your elegant ODE and bleak landscape reflects how I feel inside separate from My Angel after being so so close. The AGONY is amplified by the ECSTASY ! Thanks for sharing !
Blessings & Peace

Gee thanks - there is love and life beyond the weir.
Time is ripe to ride the shadows and finally extinct those thoughts.
Read it a few times to extract all it had to offer.
Thanks so much Suresh - so pleased you enjoyed the read.
what a lovely set of words you have left a trail of wonder with today Michael.... Neville
You're too kind - thanks so much Neville
Full of amazing imagery these lines betoken the changes when indecision is rendered extinct. Great read Mike.
Ah bless you dear Fay - thanks so much.
Art - So, that's what it looks like beyond the weir?
Poetry - I followed you "Beyond the Weir" into the "mist" and "vapors' (translation). I climbed "high" above the "waves" and made a decision. I'm putting this one into my favorites. No more despair for me. - Phil A.
My last visit to the site today before trotting up the apples and pears to Uncle Ned for a bit of Bo-Peep (sorry but couldn't resist a bit of cockney rhyming slang) - anyway I shall be retiring with a smile on my face having received such a lovely comment - thanks so much Phil.
