Refuge Reassurance

orchidee

Tune: Woodlands

('Tell out my soul')

Psalm 46 v.1-6 & v.10 parts

********

God is our refuge, and our strength and song

Be lifted up soul, praise Him all day long

He a very present help in trouble

Will come to the aid of who on Him call

Therefore we fear not, though earth be removed

Yet still His help to us He shall have proved

And though mountains be carried into sea

The LORD will still abide, our refuge be

Though waters roar, and waves troubled therein

And rain does fall, and new storms do begin

There is a river, the streams whereof shall

Make glad city of God, our tongues shall tell

There He abides, it be His holy place

His tabernacles, we His presence trace

He the most High, and in the midst dwelling

City not be moved, He its Lord and King

And God shall help His city, His people

Soon, early, for He attends to their call

Though heathen raged, kingdoms against Him moved

He spoke, the melted, and were all reproved

Be still and know, our God our help He be

Know He is God, the great I am, here see

He will be o'er all the earth exalted

He ever reigns, our Lord, our living Head

I have serious doubts about the last line of the first stanza!
    Good write though Orchi.

Thanks Gold. When I typed in that line, I thought you may comment so.
it can be easy to say it in hymn-poems. I suppose anyone can SAY anything about anything or anyone.
I hope you can 'call' and find help, an 'answer', a way through.
A big notice outside a church says 'Try praying!' We may do, and yet sometimes...…. no help seems to come?

I believe we can only ever be created beings, and not be the Creator God. Though Christians are being changed into the image of Christ.
