BUT - how about an old dilapidated house in early morning, but at least lunch is in the oven - so there's always something to look forward to.
These writings are effectively abstracts and it's up to the reader to place an interpretation on them - imho better than realism where it has to be spelt out - and it's fun.
Abstract it is. You've given us. "wallpaper fading" (an old home), "Sun rays" (daytime) , 'Chicken in oven' (lunch or supper). "open windows" (they burnt the chicken).
An elderly couple in their old home, either fell asleep or forgot about the chicken they were cooking - .
