A powerful message and well expressed. Sadly some countries are putting personal and immediate interests ahead of those of the planet.

The reality is that we all have a symbiotic relationship, crime by one impacts all of us. But what does one do when nations and major political parties are hell bent on coming the crime - what does one do with imbeciles like Trump? Thnx for visiting

      • Michael Edwards

Totally agree - what can we do?

      • dusk arising

Im sure that worldwide PEOPLE agree with protecting our planet. Some countries do not inform people though and in other countries the politicians have their own interests at heart and have conned the people to gain power.

        Radical action required?

What is surprising, is how can half the population be intentionally ignorant. it will be a shame to have to survive in a bubble.

        • Goldfinch60

The way the humans are treating the earth is abominable but once homo sapiens has destroyed itself the earth will become strong once more.

          • Suresh

Yes, Earth has proven itself to be exceptionally resilient - i.e. every place that is abandoned, nature reclaims.

            Thnx

I saw some James Bond films! The villains were going to destroy 'old humanity' and make a new one.
Yet they forgot about themselves, as villains. They would of course survive, and not destroy themselves. Or one film where the villain took some physically healthy humans into space to create a new space-race of humans. But they were still the same people of the old humanity.
Sort of trying to do evil, that good may come. It won't work. Doh!

            • Suresh

Changing the planet alone, won't do it, if we, like you said, bring the same attitudes

            • Poetic Dan

              So true, thank you
              Much peace and respect

Nature will spit us out soon Suresh and then she will breath again.

              • Suresh

What a shame, we bite the hand (nature) that feeds us.

              • Fay Slimm.

I found these few words more than moving - truth wrapped in poetry stays long after the read. Harm a leaf and the whole tree trembles.

                • Suresh

                  Here, the planet is trembling

                • Andrew Charles Forrest

Humans have too many ways to melt nature
                  That's the problem
                  Great couplet

THAKS FOR CARING SURESH ~ We have to face facts ~ I am an Enviromental Ecologist and as I see it ~ AND teach my Students:
                  1. Planet earth is the only AVAILABLE LIVING PLANET ~ There is nowhere else to GO !
                  2. In the lifetime of our GREATGRANDCHILDREN (2100) the population will at least double to 15 billion.. We can't feed a population of 7.5 billion (not enough cultivatable acres ~ food wastage etc) Millions will die of starvation and the HAVE NOTS will rebel against the HAVES ~ GLOBAL FOOD WARS
                  3. Beacause of IGNORANT & IRRESPONSIBLE POLITICIANS like TRUMP CO2 level will continue to rise and GLOBAL WARMING will increase from 16C (average remperature) to 19C ! Deserts will increase # SEA levels will rise flooding arable coastal planes and destroying Coastal Cities.
                  4. Increasing URBANISATION (80% by 2100 ?) will destroy FORESTS (which breath in CO2 and breath out OXYGEN) and increasing demand for ELECTRICITY by 100% some of which will be produced by burning FOSSIL FUELS
                  5. Rising AIR & SEA temperatures will poroduce more intense HURRICANES & TYPHOONS causing intense Coastal Damage and damamging Arable Land through salination.
                  6. Fish Stocks (an excellent food source of high grade protein) will be decimated by PLASTIC POLLUTION
                  7. The FUTURE isnt ORANGE its JET BLACK and it is already much too late ! CITY dwellers wont give up their HI-TECH lifestyle and MEAT EATERS refuse to go VEGETARIAN etc etc 10% of the POPULTION use 90% of the Earths Resources !

Sorry to paint a picture of GLOOM & DOOM but that is the srark reality ! ANGELA & I have no Children Yet (Wedding is SPRING 2020) but if our Children are born say 2025 then the wil only be 75 in 2100 and what State will Planet earth be in then at the current rate of destruction ? We may consider not RAISING a FAMILY in the current exploitation and despoiling of PLANET EARTH ~ I rest my case !

                  BLESSINGS & PEACE & LOVE
                  Yours ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡

One of the very first poetry I wrote had to do with trees, that I have not shared with anybody. I keep it for myself.
The book I wrote, Fiction, takes into account all of the issues you related here. The unique story relies on saving all the species and not just humans - WE CANNOT SURVIVE ALONE WITHOUT THE PRIME SPECIES, PLANTS.

These two lines do say it all, there is major depth in that word 'melt'
                    Thnx for sharing your thoughts
