Flowers Musing on Rain

Lorna

Over attentive lover

Prince of Spring and life it brings

Your plenitude far from teasing us

To put on garments just to please

Is causing us to glance wistfully

At our dancing slippers of colorful silk

In the closet still and until

The sometimes overwhelming Sun

Returns to chase you back a while

All's fair in love and war

Where less is sometimes more

Over ardent Rain

Stay back and let the yellow might

Coax us up into the light

Gentle up sweet Rain

And let us dress in colors once again

Could feel the frustration of those flowers appealing - - such an inventive write Lorna and a delight to read . Hope soon the rain will bend an ear and cease........ at least for the blooms to wear a smile again.

      The flowers are drenched
They have soaked up their fill
Now it's time for the sun to shine
So the other creatures can now dine

      A very pleasant read indeed

You look to the sky and all you see is grey
Whats Trump doing to the weather over US of A
He thinks global warming is a kinda a myth
False news he says, is he taking the piss?
Your grandkids amd mine will reap the wirlwind
To neglect it now is a mortal sin

        • Lorna

Oh please Dusk....... we're truly f.....k'd with Trump. I am so ashamed...........

Its a mild Winter we are having this Spring. If any hope remains, or if you need a bit of weather news from the bright side, birds were flooding our tree today, cardinals, orioles, chickadees, etc.
Let the flowers scream for Sun, maybe Nature will listen. Your poem makes their case elegantly Clever to have given them a voice. Great imagery. Springtime emotions from our flowery friends. terrific write. - Phil A.
