All was quiet,
The early evening was upon us.
My lover was sitting quietly,
Almost asleep,
So to the conservatory I went.
Put on the gentle sound of Chet
And sat down at my puzzle.
The joy of those few minutes so profound,
Just me, Chet, my puzzle and the evening,
A beautiful evening.
In my own world,
A world lost from normality,
The normality of my life,
My life of living two lives,
Mine and my lover’s dementia.
A rare evening,
Such a rare time,
Such a wonderful evening.

I am so pleased to read this capturing write - may you have many occasions like this my good friend.
Thank you Michael, those moments are very few and far between so I value each one of them. Sayting that though I value every moment in my life.
Blissful moments when the things we have long enjoyed come together and we feel the warmth of just being what we are.
I suppose we all get those but for you, wearer of two hats, one of which is a very responsible, caring, protective and alert hat, these times are all the more deserved and i suppose all the more recogniseable.
Thank you for your kind words d a, that second hat can be hard going sometimes so the moments when I am just wearing my hat are so precious.
An evening of SOLITUDE, rare and so appreciated. You deserve it, my friend
In the midst of sadness, laughter is the key to staying sane.
Thank you Suresh. Yes laughter is the key in all the problems my wife and I can still laugh at and with each other.
A telling write my friend and a gem of a read - knowing some evenings though rare you can feel normal with music and quiet as your companions - - and of course your love sitting near. - - may all your efforts find more often the blessings of times like these.
Thank you for your kind words Fay, much appreciated.
Beautifully written, it is so often the little things that bring us joy and they should be cherished.
Thank you SerenWise, that is so true, those little things are so important in our lives.
