I may not know the most extravagant of words
But I can promise much passion in each one you've heard
No agenda, no tricks hoping for a poor me ticket
Just another name in the game, letting go of shame
Perceiving of leagues far out of my reach, unable to believe I'm even worth anything
Then comes the buzz knowing what I am healing
There was no need to wait for the outside sealing
Now I no longer see myself as stupid or dim-witted
But among many others in this world that are gifted
Knowing connections are always needed, but it's our own seeds we seeded
We all walk our paths alone, from a guilt we must own
There was a time where I lost all of my pride
Saw only darkness in everyone's disguise
Echoing out of all the pain in me, and manifesting more negativity
Never to acknowledge anyone walking beside
Until I opened a bigger door
letting in more light
Now I see clearly there is no wrong or right, we all get here in our own time.

- Comment from author about the poem: This was inspired by many wonderful comments I receive, I never thought I'd even feel like a poet, I've just been here to say all that I am. Slowly I see in me what I see in all of you, inner beauty that no one can take from us

I think those are your finest words Dan. Open and truthful and in contact with your genuine heartfelt feelings. What more could a poet be? What more could a poet ask of him/her self?
The world is your oyster.
I thought about your words from yesterday, I'll be honest I still can't believe how blessed I am to get such heartfelt responses.
Thank you my friend for believing all that I am!
And, whilst in your own time. please don't stop writing such moving and sentimental poems such as this one. I'ts difficult to let out and express your most inner, thoughtful and sorrowing pain within your own heart. I love you and the way you deal with life in such an inspiring way I can't help wanting more of your own dedication to writing such poems. Bring on the next one, brother poet.
I've been wondering why I feel it so hard to answer such soul felt words. I'll slowly figuring it out to hopefully put it out there.
Thank you so much.
Just calling yourself a poet doesn't make you a poet
But you are one Dan
You have to write it's the ink coming out of your soul
There is poetical snobbery... But not amongst poets.
Great open hearted read Thank you for posting
Thank you so much I am Always grateful to receive such humbling messages like yours my friend.
What a great uplifting read - good on yer Dan.
Could never thank you enough my taking the time to read.
This is the best thing you have written in my opinion. You now know that the light is there for you where once there was darkness, that light will never fail.
I do not say this very often but this poem is going into my favourites.
I've read these words and been unable to respond for a day, for some reason it has not felt right to brush it all off.
Thank you for always giving your support.
