That Houses of Couples under Forty

Are much less cluttered than those over Forty !

One of our Friends advised : The Rule of TEN !

TEN CDs - TEN DVDs - TEN Books (each !)

TEN Pair of Footwear - shoes etc (each !)

TEN Outfits (including Pyjamas) (each !)

TEN pieces of cool Garden Furniture

TEN Kitchen Appliances - TEN Kitchen Tools

TEN wall pictures / photographs etc (each !)

TEN Bathroom Tools - TEN Garden Tools & Shed

TEN sets of Cutlery - TEN Glasses - Plates & Cups

Thanks for visiting : comments welcome : Love A & B ðŸ§¡ðŸ§¡ðŸ§¡

Could you live with TEN or LESS ?  Currently BRIAN & I - live

in separate FLATS and have already generated a lot of the

normal every day CLUTTER !  Books - CDs & DVDs - Clothing

Pictures & bric-a-brac etc !  We will have to declutter our Flats

even before we move into our House - ANGELA & BRIAN  🧡🧡🧡

Well this caused my first laugh of the day!
I have over two thousand cassette tape from when I bought those and nearly the same amount of CDs, DVDs in the hundreds.
I do not know how I would survive with only ten books, I have had to take some to Charity Shops in the past but as I left them there there was a sadness in my heart,
As you may realise we have a lot of 'stuff' in our house - that is why we sleep in the shed. LOL

HI UNCLE ANDY ~ Thanks for your very DROLL COMMENT ! We do think its a generational thing ! Cassette Tapes ~ what are they ? ! MP3 can store alot of tunes and CDs & DVDs for us have no sentimental value so we tend to recycle them to the Charity Shops. Because of GOOGLE we dont need reference books or Dictionaries and we both love *FICTION* but once read ~ again to the Charity Shop. Certainly our GRANDPARENTS kept eveything even 78s & LPs and books our PARENTS less so but still a lot of clutter. When the KIDS flee the NEST ~ they fill their rooms with JUNK ! Angela & I resolve NOT TO HOARD ~ but we guess its more easy said than done !

Blessings & Peace & Love to YOU & JOYCE
Your Friends for ever ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

A fine write A&B. Shall we de-clutter words too, or use 20 when 5 will do?!

      • ANGELA & BRIAN

GOOD MORNING UNCLE STEVE : ANGELA HERE ! Nearly MIDNIGHT in NZ ! WORDS ? Well the Computer tends to store those : but we do appreciate that our POSTINGS are a little verbose but at least sonnets restrict us to 14 lines : *Rule of FORTEEN !* Pleased you enjoyed our presentation !

BLESSINGS & JOY to YOU & FIDO !
        Love in the Spirit : ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡 + 🧡

We may be in our seventies but our house is both modern and minimalist - mind you we have far more than ten art works- six in the lounge for starters but the house is big enough. Everywhere very calming colours - in fact far less than ten throughout the house - colour injected by cushions and, of course, the art. But I love the rule of ten - great idea but don't stick too rigidly - there's room for movement either above or below this number but ten on average.

Thanks UNCLE MIKE : Angela here : nearly midnight : I guess BRIAN is busy working ! I am encouraged you are still minimalist @ 70+ Pleased you love the RULE of TEN *TEN COMMANMENTS* ! However even though we are both disciplined we are not legalistic so it is TEN + or - FIVE ! We do have BOOKS but Brians are TECHNICAL & MINE MEDICAL : we always recycle NOVELS (most people dont !). BRIAN has a big Office @ Work so he can keep books he demes necessary there ! Ruth & I share a FLAT in the UK (Essex) so we keep it very pristine ! BRIAN live on his own flatwise so it can get a bit cluttered : I am more minimalist ! Brian is very Food Hygeine conscious so His Kitchen is very PRISTINE. One problem of course is KIDS ! We have Friends with Pristine Show Case Homes : BUT now they are Parents : every Room looks like a KINDEGARDEN : we would like a PLAYROOM but houses in ESSEX are expensive £500k for plenty of Room and a decent GARDEN with a PLAYHOUSE etc. I would like TRES BAMBINOS but dont tell BRIAN ! However that will take us to nearly 2030 so no hurry !

Blessings & Love to YOU & YOURS
            Yours as always ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

I have TEN times too much clutter
Most of which is fit for the gutter
If i try to lay down
            I dream that I'll drown
And awake with a cough and a splutter

            • ANGELA & BRIAN

Thanks *DA* : You hit the NAIL on the HEAD there ! Whatever our AGE we all get attached to STUFF and are very loath to reject & recycle ! The Rule of Ten is flexible (+ or - five) but RUTH & I (who share a FLAT) do practice what we preach. BRIAN lives alone so His Flat does need a *DECLUTER* every six months. I do tend to be minimalist so when we are married I really will have to call the TUNE and face the impact of KIDS : on pristinity : when they arrive : we havent ordered any YET ! Does any KID only have TEN CUDDLY TOYS ?

              Blessings & Peace
              Yours ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

THANKS *OUT* for a very interesting plethora of messages & comments on the subject of Minimilism of Goods & decluttering. One intersting STATISTIC between the UK & The USA is that each AMERICAN has EIGHT TIMES more space than each British person ! This enables AMERICANS to have bigger PLOTS (YARDS) and much bigger houses(more floor area !} and you often have BASEMENTS (what we call CELLARS !) This means you have plenty of space ~ in the HOUSE & OUTBUILDINGS to store CLUTTER you are not using. In the UK we have to RECYCLE or DUMP it ! Our MANTA is *If you havent used something in 12 months ~ then get shut ~ OK*. I take you point about *QUALITY of RECORDED MUSIC* We havent got space for Decent Bass Speakers so we get used to hearing inferior recordings and forget how it should sound !

Thanks for all your Comments & Observations
Yours in Appreciation ~ ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡🧡
