Arbeit Macht Frie
If work genuinely sets you free my friend
Then please continue to labour
For as long and hard as you are able
Enjoy the fruits of your endeavours certainly
But if it threatens to shackle or condemn you
To an early and anonymous demise
Then I would suggest you resign loudly enough
So that future generations might hear
And take heed
Some things must never be forgotten
Or for that matter repeated
Except in the sure company of those similarly afflicted

Work has a freedom agreed but labouring to sheer exhaustion which was the aim in prison camps rings with sadistic slavery.. You nail the results in this needed reminder that some things must not be forgotten. Potent write my friend.

Very true Neville. I feel that I have been fortunate in my working life in that on the whole I enjoyed it. I can look back on it from my retirement with no regrets.
Good for you my friend...

Three words to remind us all of tryranny and madmen. Work in that instance only free'd one of ones mortal coil.
WE should not forget, regardless of our race, creed or religion.
A very sobering piece.
How very true.. and I thank you my friend..

My work does set me free! I find that teaching (lecturer) is very rewarding! I choose the subject, time, and location!

For "Nazis" substitute "Corporations" and you have it in a nutshell.
Although the title is comprised of words most oft associated with fascism and in particular the Nazi's whom I abhor, there are other possibilities too, as might be seen.... Your take on these words is also very much appreciated, and I thank you for them.... All Good Things,
Neville
