The evening brought the invisible breezes
That danced the trees into the night
Leaves tossed about in a flurry of delight
While dresses of tuile, jeweled on each panel
Were held at courtly arms length
By cavaliers of the dark wind
We can only assume them to have been
Black tuxedo'd escorts by us unseen
Who commanded starlit orchestras to sing
The elegance of their swaying partners
Enchanting the watchers
As the day's light went dim

Ah - such a charming piece of imagery-full linguistic delight dear friend.
It's Fred really Fay....... he gets to you......... I can never get over the beauty of those two dancing........ what a legacy to leave behind!
and they moved like tigers on Vaseline.... yes indeed, a sight to behold..... Neville
A fine write and clip Lorna.
Lovely! And nobody yet has compared to Fred & Ginger.
The evening ball i grew up with was a football game we played with all that youthful energy we had as kids. It went on till bad light stopped play.
great memories!
Great write Lorna.
Their artistry unmatched
Their fluidity untouched
Your poem, serenity
Thank you Suresh.... much appreciated.
May I have the next dance, I know where my tuxedo is.
I haven't a thing to wear!
I am sure you would look beautiful in whatever you wore, beauty comes from within and is seen through the eyes.
