Penang White Coffee
Somewhere between Butterworth and KL
We hit Parit Buntar where they always serve
Penang sweet white coffee
They also take on ice for the restaurant car
If I do not record my passing through
Who would ever know
You were the only reason for my brief visit

A fine write N.
thank you orchidee.. if you ever get the chance, do try that train I refer to.. the journey takes over 24 hrs but it only cost about £12 English pounds... Neville
What could be better than the lure of romance as reason for recording that visit ......sweet mystery always scents your love-poetry Neville. - - - such an engaging read again..............
thank you Fay...

That romance however brief will always be with you.
Thank you my fine 24k golden friend....

I quite fancy that journey - malaysia here I come. As for the poem it is simply superb - although only stanzas long it still manages to capture two different ideas in simple terms and leaves the reader both thinking about the journey itself and wondering about the story behind the visit - who why when.
thank you so much Michael.. and I would certainly recommend taking that trip.. we did it from Bangkok in Thailand, all the way to Singapore and yes.. all for about twelve English pounds....

Wow.. and I love the idea of white coffee.........
Thank you Lorna, I like wow's....
Penang white coffee is seriously something else.. normally I take mine strong and black, you have to try it once, at least.... 🙂
Some people will travel to who knows where just to sample that once mentioned rarity. Then home to shop doorway sleepers, carbon emissions, and global commercial warfare.
My next trip will be around the world in a coracle.... Cheers DA..

now that made me laugh out loud.. ty
Never took that ride, but reminds me of many a train ride in India and the movie Bhowani Junction.
Rushing to get the snacks at the various stations, nervous not the miss the train, as it is taking too long, or calling the vendor for a cup of hot tea in the mutka (earthenware), adding its own flavor.
Very enjoyable poem
that is precisely the way it is my friend.. I once traveled from Kerala to Goa by train and it took considerably longer... the tea kept me going and probably saved my life... thank you for visiting my words and for the movie tip..... Neville
Reminds me of 'A Brimful Of Asha' by an Indian music band called 'Cornershop' and it actually means that 'a brimful of asha' that you've spilled some coffee on a spinning 45 vinyl deck. Nice work.
why thank you Kevin.. although Cornershop are as yet unknown to me, I shall keep my ears open for them, that's a great title innit... are they local? I was in Bath only a few days ago.... Neville
I live roughly half an hour drive from Bath so if you ever visit again then, please, let's hook up for coffee and a chat.
Hey... why not... I used to live in Limpley Stoke, Radstock and Midsomer Norton... Now in Somerset...
Neville
I live just outside of Midsomer Norton in a place called Statton-On-The-Fosse. I do my shopping in Norton Once a week. Where are you living now then, Neville?
In the middle of nowhere, the nearest town would be Crewkerne.. Is Arnold's Place the chippy still open in MSN ?
Radstock has changed a lot since we were there over thirty years back... we went through it on the way to Bath on Monday....
Roal Dahl's first job was delivering kerosene in Midsomer Norton. How's about that then?
blimey...........
