Faith Removes Discrimination - James Series (2)

Tune: St Hilda

('O happy band of pilgrims')

James 2 v.1-13 part

*********

Faith does does discriminate

Between those small and great

But welcomes all and loves all

It has heard its Lord's call

The call to love one's neighbour

If they be rich or poor

Whate'er their state or station

What race or what nation

Love one's neighbour as one's self

Shall be spiritual wealth

Not partial, but conferring

love one each, discerning

Discerning that God's mercy

He has shown to us, see

And so we too show mercy

Unpreferentially

For if we mercy not show

We shall God's judgement know

And mercy triumphs over

Judgement, we not incur

Not incur it, for we speak

And act, humble and meek

As they that shall be judged by

Law of liberty nigh

If we could all love one's neighbour as oneself the world would be so wonderful.

discrimination and prejudice are almost always based on nothing but ignorance and fear.. the world would be better off without either..... Neville

Sadly there is much discrimination in the name of misguided faith.

Thanks Michael. Yes, what goes on in misguided faith.

I remember young Faith when we were at school in the midlands. Her teen years were adventure but meeting Harry she calmed down and became the family hub.
All these years later she runs a B&B in Bognor and an animal rescue centre. Fond memories of Faith... she's with me always, alive and motivating.

Thanks UNCLE STEVE for yet another UPLIFT ~ *A Happy Band of Pilgrims* would be a good title for our *Little Inner Circle* of faithful Readers & Responders ! Angela & I work hard singly & colaboratly to produce a SPECTRUM of Poems in different Styles and on different Subjects ! One comment is a Blessing ~ two a Bonus & three a Bonanza ! Im sure you feel the same ! A Poem a Day saves the Brain from DECAY ! JAMES is an awsome BOOK and tells it like it is. In our DAY JOBS ~ Angela and I meet a wide cross~section of People from different Classes ~ Cultures ~ Colour & Creeds ! We were both raised to treat all PEOPLE as equal in Gods sight and we alwaysI DO ! I was once going to A College for an interviewand I got there EARLY ~ I went for a CUP of COFFEE in the Canteen and there was an Older Man looking worried. I spoke to HIM and He said thanks for cheering me up I have an important JOB to do today ~ We are interviewing for a number of posts today and I want to get it right ! Without thinking I said *Well if I have big decisions to make I always PRAY about them and GOD gives me guidence !* He thanked me and then the Principal came in and collected the Man ~ but for some reason any aprehension I had was lifted as I prayed for the Man I had met and the Principal that GOD would give them WISDOM. I was being interviewed for my first JOB in FE as a Lecturer in Science ! There were four Candidates all older and more experienced than me but I had *Industrial Experience* ! When the Panel was introduced the Man I had Prayed for was the Chair of Governors and Chair of the Panel ! A very experienced Chemical Engineer ! He smiled at ME and said *Well Brian tell us about yourself and why you think we should appoint you to this post !* I had no nerves and the interview went well ! When I was called in for them to offer me the Post ~ He said *You impressed me when we met by accident in the Canteen and I thought after you had said ~ You would Pray for ME ~ that you were the confident sort of Young Candidiate we would hope to appoint today* I learned later that He was a Deacon in the Local Baptist Church ~ AMEN !

Blessings & JOY to YOU & FIDO
              Yours as always BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡 + 🧡
