And so they put us on the carousel
How cute we are
How adorable
As our little legs run haltingly
Towards the future
Round and round
And some of it is wonderful
Then the gears seem to stick
The protective cover erodes
The rain falls through
The seats rust
Our friends fall off
And there are tears in the horses' eyes

A good write Lorna.
This is about real horses and neglect. Sad sad subject. Greyhounds too.
Make readers think between the lines.
No it isn't........... it's about life not horses.......
ooppss i got it wrong again, so i shall re-read. Apologies.
Yes, life is a carousel
Really enjoyed reading this poem.
Life's endless roundelay of trying not to fall and make mistakes your clever pen relates with good imagery which leaves a sound message to ponder - - a fine write again Lorna.
Round and round. The circle of life carries us until the music stops. Thanks for the thoughtful reflection.
So well penned - a great read.
Those tears are getting evermore prevalent in the world we are going round and round in.
Hello Lorna,
An enchanting and great write.
I love carousels. Everytime I see one I have to have a ride on one. Childhood nostalgia I dont care how old I am.
Keep writing FineB
I haven't seen one in ages! Next time I do, I'll be on it!
Great metaphor for life Lorna and I think of how we all spruce ourselves up for the new year/season only to fade and tire each winter
Every year gets tougher
Great write I liked this
oh wow! an outstanding write.
A great metaphorical poem, so sublime a comparison of life to a carousel and horses. Kudos.
