I once walked around thinking no one would ever want to be me
Now over time so many people have confided in me
As I have with them stories of our past and present
To the point I've been filled with enough recognition
Never to hide any wavering quivering emotion
Each one was a message muted by anger and frustration
As I started to properly get it off my chest
Spilled every emotional energetically charged thought
Riding the waves of tears wanting to shout
Guided consciously to break a pattern of self pity
I now see that worthiness in me and everybody
I'm not walking around thinking you should be like me but more like, if only you could see what I see.
Now I remember how many times that was said to me, I guess persistence is the key
Or maybe its just a matter of time and company
I am blessed to connect with so many souls on my journey

I can see no reason why you should ever put yourself down again Dan... you have clearly moved forward and found not only a new voice and a new way of expressing yourself, but a new you too.... a pat on the back is in order ,,,,,,, Neville
I keep telling my brain that too but this old/new voice can't and would never go to the back again. Front and centre, giving trust, respect and loyalty learnt from four paws. With a bit more 😉

I wholeheartedly agree with Nevilles words.
Consider this. Each one of us who has commented on your work over the years here is an imperfect soul either going through or coming out of a self repair mechanism. Whether it ever ends i don't know. But this much i do know. You are one of us and among us you have no need to validate yourself for we value you. If you were a cowboy i guess we would all agree that you won your spurs quite a while ago.

Dear Dan, my friend, your hope in deciding your own hearts truths and the witnessing of some lower ground level of life leaves you only looking upwards to see how high you've fallen from. Now the persistence of your thoughts which you create for us readers to dwell upon, learning how to take, retrieve, except, take in and to watch you grow more so everyday into a beautiful being is just a remarkable feat to have gained towards your own wisdom of life. I trust you, I think about you and congratulate you on both your winnings and your losses. Without those you wouldn't be you. I perceive serenity is heading your way and I expect from the poetry you teach us will lift the skies to reveal your name written right across its blue beauty followed up with the Sun shining down on you for the rest of your life. Never let your dreams fail you and from what I can gather your intentions are pointing in the right direction. You are loved whatever you write, say or do. Keep the world smiling for everyone around you and I'm quite sure you will positively win the day. Keep the fight alive and tell the world of what you have learned in order for others to learn from. Now that's one of Gods gifts given to you open evenhandedly. Beat that if you can and then your star will shine bright forever.
As I struggle this morning to balance my energy, I'm helped by every word you and DS have used.
The support in your words my friend are a cushion that stops my old insecure thoughts of not being good enough or able to handle life, a river of which I'm no longer part off.
I hope you are well and I truly thank you for your time.
May your journey never again go to the dark places and you continue your way in life with the light to brighten your path.
