Tune: Little Cornard
('Hills of the north, rejoice')
Psalm 68 v.1-6
*******
Let God arise, and see
All His enemies flee
Let them that do Him hate
Scatter early, not late
As smoke driven, drive them away
As wax that melts, soon comes their day
But let righteous be glad
No more oppressed nor sad
Before God they rejoice
Exceedingly, one voice
Sing to God, praises to His name
He JAH, JEHOVAH, endless fame
Extol Him who does ride
On the clouds, none beside
Though he great he does care
And in our lives doe share
He father of the fatherless (and motherless)
Defends the widows (and widowers) in distress
Holy habitation
He dwells in, each nation
Does He see, the lonely
Does set in family
Looses the chains of those who bound
His blessings sure seen all around

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6.8.8. metre. Sing it real quick as in the clip, or a bit slower, to have time to take some breaths between lines!

Good one Orchi.
A great tune is this one.
Thanks Gold. We had it today as one hymn, though it's an Advent theme in the original hymn. We had it slower though. Half of us would have conked out if we sang it 100mph as in the clip!
Good work O
Thanks UNCLE STEVE : ANGELA here (11:30 pm in NZ almost time for bed !) I guess BRIAN is in CHURCH ! Love the Hymn - Choir & Orchestra : AWESOME ! Psalm 68 a great Psalm for the evil days in which we live !
We long for the time when GOD
Will take over our Cities
When wickedness shall be suppressed
And selfishness subdued
When Poeple will care for each other again !
Blessings for YOU & FIDO

Thanks B&A. I've taken part of Psalm 68 - a processional Psalm it is - trampling down the enemy, marching on, etc. Maybe not spiritual stiff upper lip though! Yet it is a spiritual battle, we know.
Blessed Sunday Orchi
Thanks for the post
Thanks Andrew. I might sing it every day - oh nooooo! lol.
Sing SING Orchi
That's the problem - it's ME singing it. Can folk bear it? lol.
If the god of love were capable of such wrath as your first verse contains then he would be reigning it down on you for you attempt to lead him along this path. How dare you suggest to your god what he should do?
That's what the Psalmist says (King David or others wrote them). Evil has to be overthrown for good to win.
Popycock!
