Leaving the LIGHTS on in the HOUSE
Drinking drinks through Plastic Straws
Using PALM OIL to massage my SPOUSE !
Leaving the HEATING on far too LONG
Throw-away POLYSTYRENE Coffee Spike
Flushing the LOO TWICE ~ humming a song
DRIVING my CAR and NOT RIDING my BIKE !
Going ABROAD in a GAS GUZZLING PLANE
Eating too much MEAT ~ AGAIN & AGAIN !

This POEM is based on a recent survey of a cross section of
ADULT BRITISH PUBLIC. Their responses (in percentage
order) is about *What issues made them feel Guilty about
their contribution to CLIMATE CHANGE ?* Can you personally
relate to any issues ? If you are under 40 (as we both are) YOU
should be more concerned because the Narrator in the Video
sees 2050 as a KEY YEAR when we begin to reap the NEGATIVE
issues of the ANTHROPOGENIC (Manmade !) POLLUTION of our
ONLY HABITABLE PLANET ? Do you have GRANDCHILDREN ?

Thanks A &B. Urgh, a gross way to save - some don't flush public toilets once even! A visit to some of them can be nightmarish. I know they may say they are saving water, but that's revolting. Ooh.
And furthermore - hey, I've gone green - my face has. I knew I never should have eaten those...….. last night (insert what food does not agree with you).

Thnaks for your usual Droll Comment abut unflushed LOOS (please flush at least ONCE !) and 40 shades of GREEN. You will escape the MELTDOWN ~ but do you have Grandchildren or Children even ? They will reap the Worldwind ! BRIAN (at work) & I like the WORD ANTHROPOGENIC because it stresses that GLOBAL WARMING by possibly up to 12C extra degrees is NOT NATURAL its MANMADE ! Our Poster suggests *Its not too late to SAVE the (only habitable) PLANET* but that was the MANTRA for the 20th Century ( remember that) the VIDEO suggests that in the 21st its already much too late to reverse the soon DEMISE of PLANET EARTH ! Brian & I are just realistic Scentists ~ not PROPHETS of DOOM because we understand & believe the BOOK of REVELATION and we KNOW that GOD will INTERVENE before the PLANET is DESTROYED : Tht is why GOD has prevented a Global Nuclear War : Watch this Space : AMEN !

Poco Poco hacen Mucho ! An old Spanish proverb UNCLE MIKE which roughly translated means *Trivial things can add up to something really BIG* ! This is so true of missuse & pollution of PLANET EARTH (there is nowhereelse to GO !) over the last 120 years since the arrival of the INFERNAL Combustion Engine ! WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE ! Because of our Professions BRIAN & I have had the opportunity too study CLIMATE CHANGE a bit more closely ! Brian from an environmental point of view and myself from its impact on the Health & Well Being of Iindividuals & the Community. I chose the VIDEO because the narrator *Tells it like it really is !* The issues raised in the Survey : and included in or Poem : may seem petty & trivial to some but *Poco Poco Hacen Mucho* and they all accelerate the Planets Demise. Some SENIORS say it wont affect them : but in our Talks BRIAN & I remind them that THEY caused it and their descendents will reap the CONSEQUENCES ! We are all guilty : We are all reponsible !

Thanks FAY : Brian & I seem to be on our SOAPBOX lately but this one is very important. I picked the video because the Narrator is very SCIENTIFIC and I agree with His rather alarning Prognosis. Brian & I will only be in our 60s in 2050 but our Children will still be alive in 2100 when things wil be much much worse ! We are pleased you appreciated both the Structure & Subject of Our Presentation. As committed Christians we have read The Book of Revelation and we believe GOD will intervene before we destroy the PLANET ~ AMEN

THANKS AGAIN *OUT* for taking the time to read and comment on our Presentation. We all appreciate that PLANET EARTH cannot exist for ever and that ultimately as the SUN expands it will envelope the EARTH ! However that is millions of years into the future and does not immediatly concern this GENERATION. What concerns me (BRIAN) as an Environmental Scientist is that the rise of CO2 (from 250 ppm to 410 ppm) is not NATURAL but ANTHROPOGENIC (manmade !) Since we ceased to be HUNTER GATHERERS (thousands of Years ago) MAN has placed himself outside the NORMAL CHEMICAL CYCLES (Water ~ Nitrogen ~ Carbon etc) and Food Chains & Food Webs ~ He has exploited the Earths resources of Fuels & Minerals ~ and has developed SYNTHETICS (like plastics etc) which the Earths ecosystems cannot BIODEGRADE ! When ANGELA & I start a FAMILY our Children will still be alive in 2100 when much of the Worlds surface could be UNINHABITABLE ! There will be mass migrations from the NEW DESSERTS and CIVIL WAR and GLOBAL WAR between the Haves & the Have NOTS. It will end in MASS STARVATION AND DEATH and *There is nowhere else to GO*

We try to do our best as far as the environment is concerned, mainly about “Gas guzzling planes” the last time I went on a plane was in the 1960s so I think I have done my bit in not flying for forty plus years.

Thanks UNCLE ANDY ~ BRIAN here ! Yes I do feel guilty flying 11,500 miles to NEW ZEALAND and back to see ANGELA but its a week by BOAT and I only have limited HOLIDAYS ! Noblesse Oblige ! I know some older folk in Church who have never flown and never will ! Others ~ in BUSINESS ~ Fly to and fro to Europe several times a month ! Angela & I try to be as GREEN as possible but its increasingly difficult and may ALREADY be too late !

Angela sends her love ~ S he is still in AUCKLAND (whose weather is like Florida ~ Middle of Winter and still 15C = 59F ! Europe is experiencing high temperatures (40+C = 104F) like Death Valley ! Pleased you enjoyed the Presentation the UK Vineyards are doing well and we hope to be growing CITRUS by 2030 ! Im off this morning (now nearly 11am) teaching this evening ~ just catching up on MPS !
